The IC Founders: Daniel Nisman and Avi Yesawich
Site Founders

Avi Yesawich and Daniel Nisman are independent journalists, security analysts and political commentators focusing on Middle East affairs, writing for a wide spectrum of media outlets in the region. They are also contributors to the non-profit IDF activism website, www.friendasoldier.com. Both authors are based in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Avi and Daniel care deeply about the State of Israel. As the country faces an increasing level of isolation and hostility by many amongst the international community, both authors strive to educate individuals on the highly complex nature of the social and political situation that Israel - indeed, the entire region - currently finds itself in.

Avi holds degrees from Cornell University and Tel Aviv University, where he studied Business and Conflict Resolution and Mediation, respectively. He completed his military service as a sharpshooter in the IDF's elite paratrooper brigade and participated in security and counter-terror operations in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and on the Israel/Lebanon border. He enjoys long distance running, Krav Maga, and engaging in endless debates on science, religion and philosophy.

Daniel is an Argov Fellow at the Inter-Disciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel. He served in a Special Forces unit of the IDF and was involved in the 2005 Gaza Disengagement, 2006 Lebanon War, and many other counter terror operations throughout the West Bank. He completed his studies in International Law and currently works for a security consulting firm based in Tel Aviv. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, outdoor activities and coaching football.
